This is the webpage of the Emmy Noether research group on "Mediating (Semi-)Authoritarianism - The Power of the Internet in the Post-Soviet World".  The five-year project (2014-2019) is financed by the German Research Foundation DFG and located at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies at the Free University Berlin.

The research group is headed by group leader Dr. Florian Toepfl and involves two further researchers, Dr. Anna Litvinenko and Andrei Zavadski. It investigates the interrelations of internet-mediated communication and politics in the post-Soviet region, with a strong comparative focus on three countries: Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
